Avon True Color Pro Enamel Barefoot Beige

The Internet is chock full of real life examples of nail colors except for Avon; those are a little harder to come by.

I love a nice manicure and fresh nail polish every week, and have been into nude/light colors lately because when the polish eventually chips, I can afford to wait a day or two since it’s not as noticeable.

I work in a professional office: I type on a computer, take hand written notes with pens, and handle paperwork all day.  It’s important to me that I not show up with purple nail polish chipped up like mad dog while I’m there. I save that for my weekends off:)

I decided to try Avon’s True Color Nail Polish in Barefoot Beige (this is not a “gel” polish...it’s just regular nail enamel). I must say that I like it a LOT so far! I usually use OPI, China Glaze, and Sally Hansen, and although I have every color known to man, I, like a lot of women, am on a personal quest to find THE ONE nail color that puts all the others to rest.

In this photo, I’m on day 3 of my manicure. I used Avon Basecoat  (LOVE!) and Avon Quick Dry Topcoat (like a lot) in addition to the nail color, and while I’m impressed by the longevity (so far) of the polish, I’m also really happy with the actual color. Avon wasn’t messing around when they say “True Color” on their cosmetics is the color you will receive, nail polish included. The color on the bottle is pretty much exactly what is on my nails after 2 coats.

Real Christmas Trees

Can’t you smell it now?

We have had a real tree every year since forever. They’re my favorite.

I kinda feel like Buddy the Elf just now. “I just like to smile. Smiling’s my favorite.”

HAHA!

Seriously though, they make me so happy. The smell reminds me of when I was very little and we had a real tree for a couple of years. I can actually FEEL the magic of Christmas just like I did back then as a child whenever I smell the pine of a real Christmas tree now.

Any my daughter told me the other day, “I’ll always remember us getting a real tree every year”. My heart melted. What a wonderful memory to gift her with.  🎄

Ladies Night Out Avon Event

Man! I’m so bummed this is over! They’re a lot of work but I love participating in events and craft fairs.  The stress and anxiety leading up to the event seems to melt away once I get to the location, set up my table, and arrange all of the Avon items I have on hand to sell. This is the perfect time of year too...so even if people aren’t buying makeup or skin care (or ANYTHING! and are just there to drink and socialize lol) I have a blast talking to people and meeting new customers and other vendors. 

This particular event was at Nite Games in the Chicago suburb of Oak Forest, IL...about a half hour outside of city limits.  I kind of waited until the last minute to find craft fairs and other events to participate in this year, only because I was so busy with my regular day job and family. And time seems to FLY BY. I always think I have more time than I do. So next year I’ll have to be one of those I-get-ready-for-Christmas-in-September people to get the best spots. 💜

Avon Makeup Removal and Skin Care

After a super long crazy week and the weekend right in front of me, I thought about doing a makeup video with all of my Avon makeup BUT! I thought yanno, Avon’s skin care line is what I love more than the makeup so why not do a video of me using their skin care products? I love the time of day (or night, rather) when I can wash my face and use products I love, believe in, and contribute to my having healthy skin. ☺️
